North-West Atlantic Fishery Organisation (Nordwestatlantische Fischereiorganisation)
The NAFO was created in 1979 to protect fish resources from West of Greenland to Cape Hatteras (about 35°N). It manages fishing activities and promotes co-operation between the contracting parties (currently 18, including the EU, Canada, USA, Norway, Japan, Iceland and Denmark (Faroes and Greenland). Members of the Federal Research Centre for Fisherie (Institute for Sea Fisheries) involved: M. Stein (Chair of the Standing Committee on Fisheries Environment) and (previously) H.-J. Rätz and H.-P. North Atlantic Marine Mammals Commission
NAMMCO - the North Atlantic Marine Mammal Commission - is an international body for cooperation on the conservation, management and study of marine mammals in the North Atlantic. The NAMMCO Agreement, which was signed in Nuuk, Greenland on 9 April 1992 by Norway, Iceland, Greenland and the Faroe Islands, focuses on modern approaches to the study of the marine ecosystem as a whole, and to understanding better the role of marine mammals in this system. NAMMCO provides a mechanism for cooperation on conservation and management for all species of cetaceans (whales and dolphins) and pinnipeds (seals and walruses) in the region, many of which have not before been covered by such an international agreement. http://www.nammco.no/Nammco/Mainpage/
North Atlantic Salmon Conservation Organization
The North Atlantic Salmon Conservation Organization (NASCO) is an international organization established under the Convention for the Conservation of Salmon in the North Atlantic Ocean which entered into force on 1 October 1983. The objective of the Organization is to contribute through consultation and cooperation to the conservation, restoration, enhancement and rational management of salmon stocks subject to the Convention taking into account the best scientific evidence available to it. The Convention applies to the salmon stocks which migrate beyond areas of fisheries jurisdiction of coastal States of the Atlantic Ocean north of 36°N latitude throughout their migratory range. http://www.nasco.int/
North East Atlantic Fishery Commission (Nordostatlantische Fischereikommission)
The North East Atlantic Fisheries Commission was formed to recommend measures to maintain the rational exploitation of fish stocks in the Atlantic and Arctic Oceans.

North Pacific Anadromous Fish Commission
The North Pacific Anadromous Fish Commission was established under the Convention for the Conservation of Anadromous Stocks in the North Pacific Ocean, signed of Febrauary 11, 1992 and entered into force on February 16, 1993. The Contracting Parties include Canada, Japan, Republic of Korea, the Russian Federation, and the United States. The primary objective is to promote the conservation of anadromous stocks in the Convention Area.

North Sea Commission - Fisheries Partnership Group
The aim of the North Sea Commission Fisheries Group (NSCFG) is to improve the situation in fishing dependent communities around the North Sea in relation to the citizens as well as to the fishing industry, fish stocks and the marine environment.
